Today, global and local changes are threatening the future of the sled dog in Greenland, and the unique culture surrounding it. 'The Race' is a portrait of 13 year-old Nick, who's stepping into the sport of dog sledding for the very first time. His story is joined by 72 year-old race legend Ville Siegstad, whose life has inspired many young sled dog mushers.

DOG’S TO THE RESCUE

30 minutes - Australia

Meet some very special dogs who are going above and beyond to serve and protect.  Bear, Spot and Zacc are all proving themselves to be very good boys.   Heroes coming to the rescue when man and Koala’s are most in need. Utilising their specialised training and in Spot’s case his natural instincts these three very special dogs are ready and willing to come to the rescue.

Bear the kollie from the Sunshine Coast was rescued from a dog shelter and trained by the team at Sunshine Coast University to help scientists locate Koalas for research. When the 2019 fires decimated much of Kangaroo Island, Bear was called upon to use his special skills to help find the injured wildlife giving them a second chance at life.
