With "a husky voice that envelops the listener like a great blast of muffling Andalusian heat" (The Telegraph, London), flamenco superstar Buika has won over audiences across the globe with her unique musical blend of jazz, flamenco, blues, and soul. She has created a strikingly original musical fusion from sorrowful Spanish coplas, layered Cuban rhythms, and slinky American torch songs, collaborating with the likes of Pat Metheny, Anoushka Shankar, Chick Corea, and Chucho Valdés. Growing up on the Spanish island of Mallorca, Buika was exposed to great jazz singers by her mother and forged a breath taking, soul drenched vocal style combining flamenco and jazz improvisation. A commanding performer, Buika saw her career catch fire in 2009 with El Último Trago, a collaboration with Cuban piano giant Chucho Valdés.
